The Study of International Fisheries Research Needs for Developing Countries (SIFR) was the result of an initiative of the First Fiheries Development Donor Consultant, held in Paris in October 1986 (World Bank 1986). This book discuss measures that can be taken by countries and donor agencies to improve fishery management and development practices on the basis of information currently available.
