Indonesia's Economic Up-Turn : Facts and Figures
Economic growth is now beginning to develop strong positive momentum. The Indonesian currency the Rupiah, is now stronger and more manageable. The development of interest rates set by the Central bank has also shown a promising trend, aiming for an annual inflation rate in single digits. By the beginning of October 2003 the one-month Indonesia Central Bank Certificate has fallen to 8.59 per cent. It is hoped that declining interest rates will boost the utilization of industrial capacity.
