This book is design mainly as a nomanclature aid for identification of marine fishes in the South China Sea area that gives detailed characteristics for identification on fish groups, family, species and common names and description of the species to fishermen, traders, fishery biologists and statisticians. Field guide to important commercial marine fishes of the South China Sea area is intended for easy use while, at the same time, being comprehensive reference to serve various sectors such as fishery management, students, tradesmen as well as field officers and scientists. This book have VII section. Section I, II, and III. Illustrated keys are provided so as to enable easy identification of a fish down to order, family and finally to species. Section IV more than 300 pictures of fish in natural colour so that the user can confirm his identification in the first section. Section V covers habitat and important species, Section VI a list of important fishes distributed in the South China Sea and Section VII is index.
