The Integrated Coastal Management Sustainability Research Project, a three-year research project, has been investigating the factors influencing the sustainability of ICM process in the Philippines and Indonesia after formal project termination. This followed by social survey results in the two research sites. Economic research explores the economic benefits of ICM. An analysis of local institutions within Bunaken National Park considers how they have been influenced by ICM over time. Biophysical impacts of management strategies within Bunaken National Park are documented, a case study of Nain Island and the role of enforcement concludes the theme issue.
