Towards Sustainable Fisheries Law : A Comparative analysis
Ensuring sustainable and equitable management of biodiversity from local to global level is the heartland of work for the International Union for the Conservation (IUCN). Conservation of marine biodiversity in general and fish resources in particular has been high on the agenda of IUCN and its Environmental Law Programme (ELP). Contained by lesson presented This book is used to be a great tool for improving the understanding the institutional and legal problems related to fisheries management; and providing guidance for sustainable use of fish resources through a ‘legal clinic’ for fisheries management. Also, the lessons presented here in the case studies, and especially in the legal clinic, provide valuable insights not only for the six states analyzed, but also for any other state aiming for sustainable fisheries management.
