INDONESIAN WATERS WERE PROPOSED AS THE CENTER FOR EEL DIVERSITY AND DISTRIBUTION IN THE WORLD BUT AFTER RESEARCH BY EGE (1939) AND JESPERSEN (1940), NO DETAIL STUDY HAS BEEN DONE FOR THE TROPICAL EELS.
