Australian government - Organizational Body;

ACIAR forms part of the Australians Government's overseas aid program and works toward its objective of assisting developing countries to reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development in line with Australian's national interest. The core principles of Australia's aid program are: accelerating progress toward the millenium development goals; a recognition that while economic growth will not, by itself, deliver fair and stable societies; a strong emphasis on the Asia Asia Pasific, while also increasing our efforts in Africa and South Asia; and an emphasis on the power of education to promote development, and a commitment to contnue to improve effectiveness.
