The fund mobilizes resources and knowledge through a dynamic coalition of the rural poor, governments, financial and development institutions, non governmental organization and the private sector. IFAD was deeply involved in these meetings, often working closely with the Rome-based UN food agencies- the food and agriculture organization of the United Nations and the world food programme. All of IFAD's choice in 2002 on regional, country and thematic strategies, loan and grants, poverty reduction strategies, policy dialogue and development partners were made with these objectives in mind.
