The Arafura and Timor seas (ATS) region is shared by Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and Timor Leste, considered as one of the world’s most productive marine ecosystems, sustaining both small-and large scale fisheries and providing fertile feeding grounds for marine species. Considering those richness in ATS region, there are many important factors to be considered when addressing its conservation. They are physical setting, oceanography, climate and customary areas. The spatial data and other forms of information regarding climate change, fisheries, marine and land based pollution, and biodiversity in ATS region published in this atlas. Since 2020, information pertaining to the ATS region have been produced and gathered by ATSEA-2 project. It aims to provide a detailed and updated description of the ATS, presented in a way that’s accessible and can be easily understood by ATS stakeholders and general readers alike.
