FAO's South-south And Triangular Strategy in Action: Fostering Patnerships Among the Global South

The corporate SSC Strategy is part of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations’ (FAO) efforts to ensure the Organization is well positioned to rapidly respond to increasing requests to facilitate the scaling-up of knowledge and technologies that have contributed to enhancing agricultural and rural development and reducing hunger in the global South. While there is no universally agreed definition of SSC, FAO sees SSC within its mandate of agriculture and food security, as the mutual sharing and exchange of development solutions – knowledge, experiences and good practices, innovative policies, technology, know-how, and resources – between and among countries in the South. Convinced that all countries have innovative solutions to offer, and observing that in recent years, developing countries, in particular emerging economies, are increasingly cooperating and exchanging development solutions with other developing countries, FAO is fully committed to facilitating these connections.
