Catch composition of Eel (A. bicolor bicolor ) in Southern Sukabumi, West Java

Southern west of Sukabumi is one of the center of Eel. Catch composition of eel mostly glass eel and elver . Species of eel dominated by Anguilla bicolor bicolor . Small scale fishing gear are using by the fishermen consists of sudu (push net), anco (lift net) and bubu (trap). The catch of glass eel and elver are found throughout the study area, while it's not elver in Palabuhanratu. July and August is the highest catch of glass eel it relates to the transition season. Catch of elvers reduce due to market demand, then stopped when catch of glass eel reach a peak. At the moment there is no glass eel elvers received by eel culture in size.
