Action Plan Indonesian Tuna Fisheries: Better Management Practices for Moving Toward Sustainable and Responsible Fisheries

Following the widespread agreement that sustainability of the Fishery resources is very substantial to maintain food security and to ensure the long-term sustainable livelihood of fishers and fishing communities. The result of pre-assessment suggests that there are some positive points that should be maintaned and some issues that should be addressed. A set of concultations were convened from September - Oktober 2010 to identify solutions and stakeholder engagement in the design and implementation of a fishery improvement project that will move the fishery towards the MSC standard. Three key documents were prrepared: Action plan for Indonesian Tuna Fisheries Sector, Indonesia Tuna Fisheries Management Plan, and Action Plan for Indonesian Tropical Reef Fish sector.
