| Abstract/Notes | The ATSEA-2 project has published the information contained in this publication to assist public knowledge and discussion, and to help improve the sustainable management of the Arafura and Timor Seas (ATS) region. ATSEA-2 is the second phase of the GEF (Global Environmental Facility)-finance, UNSD-supported ATSEA program and is designed to enhance regional collaboration and coordination in the Arafura and Timor seas (ATS) region, which is composed of Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Timor Leste. This report contains the implementation of the following governance and environmental objectives of Strategic Action Program : stremgthening of ATS regional governance, recpvering and sustaining fisheries, restoring degraded habitats for sustainable provision of ecosystem services, reducing land-based and marine sources of pollution, protecting key marine species, and adaptation to the impacts of climate changes. |
