Abstract/Notes
Seaweed is one of fishery commodities which has great potency to be developed and can be counted on to accelerate the achievement of fishery developmentobjectives. Indonesia, which lies at the equator, rich in sunlight and minerals, has fertile waters for the growth of seaweed. Types of seaweed that grows in many Indonesian water are Glacillria, Gelidium, Eucheuma, Hypnea, Sargassum and Turbinaria, while the types of seaweed usually cultivated are Gracillaria sp and Eucheuma sp. Eucheuma sp is cultivated in waters of beach/seashore, while Gracillaria sp is usually cultivated in ponds.
