Line fishing has certain advantage over other methods of fishing but there are also disadvantage. On the advantage side, fishing grounds where line fishing is carried out are less likely to be limited by enviromental factors. For example operation of line fishing gear is possible in very deep sea as well as in shallow waters and in waters with strong currents and or rough bottom. Furthermore less damage is done to fish caught by line fishing , therefore preservation of freshness is good and this type of gear is carried out the fishing operation in a small scale, and cost of the gear and operation is required less mount than those of a net and its operation.
