Abstract/Notes
During the first FAO Inrenational Fishing Gear Congress in Hamburg, 1957, one of the sections was devoted to the subject, and the resume by the Rapporteur summarized the situation of electryc fishing in both salt and fresh water at the time. Major emphasis was placed on the use of electric fishing gear; problem concerned with electro physiology had minor attention. In the same year, FAO published a short study, "electrical fishing" which summarized the basic principles of electris fishing and its application to freshwater and sea fisheries.
