Abstract/Notes	Within the FAO/SIDA Cooperative Programme a series of workshops on aquatic pollution in relation to the protection of living resources was started in 1972. The seventh workshop was held in Manila,Philipines, hosted by the National Pollution Control Commission. It dealt with methods to analyse heavy metals and spectrophotometry and gas-liquid chromatography. For the purpose of this workshop a manual was prepared covering the field sampling of aquatic organisms, the preparation of samples and the analysis of metals and organochlorines.
