Abstract/Notes Global crisis on food and energy as result increasing in world population and decreasing in agriculture production including fish production, trigger the increasing in food stuff price, and it direct or indirectly afects the Indonesian population life. In the long run this situation could emerge the starvation disaster in some countries including Indonesia. Inland waters, potential ecosystems producing fish, could beone of many solutions to handle this problem. However, in the last decade, this ecosystem specially the floodplain area is in the degradation process mainly due to land conversion for agriculture, plantation, domestic and irresponsible aquatic resources management which finally decreasing its fish production. Inland waters resources is one of natural resources that mostly has not been considered in government program. Publication on the ecology and social economy of the people live in this ecosystem is very few.
