Abstract/Notes This study aimed to evaluate trial of two different feeds for commercial grouper culture by comparing commercial pellet and trash fish. The experiment was carried out in floating net cages belong Gondol Research Institute for Mariculture located at Pegametan bay, North Bali. A total of 600 humpback grouper juveniles with theaverage initial body weight 200-gram, were stocked in five 2x2x2-m3 cages at stocking densities of 120 fish/cage. In 3 cages, the fish were fed commercial pellets and 2 cages were fed with copped trash fish to satiation and reared for six months. The results, of this study showed that, body weight gain; specific growth rate, were not significant (P>0.05) between commercial pellet and trash fish. Feed conversion ratio obtained for commercial pellet and trash fish were 1.74 and 5.10, respectively. Survival rate between commercial pellet and trash fish were significantly different (P<0.05) 93.06 and 76.11 %, respectively. There is not significant difference in net production between commercial pellet and trash fish (P>0.05), and also, almost no
difference in fish production cost of commercial pellet cornparet to trash fish. These results indicate that commercial pellet have better performances compared with trash fish.
