Abstract/Notes | Seed production technology of milkfish, Chanos chanos had been establish. An experiment by improving environment using commercial pro-biotic had been conducted on milkfish larval rearing in order to produce seed continuity. The twelve of fiber glass tanks with 1m3 capacity were stocked with newly hatched larvae at density 18,000 larvae/tank. The larvae feed rotifer were enriched by pro-biotic and reared for 23 days. The experiment aim was effective dosage of pro-biotic to increase the survival rate of the seed. The experiment were done in a completely randomized design and consisted four dosage of pro-biotic treatments i.e. (A) 1ppm; (B) 2ppm; (C) 3ppm and (D) Control (without pro-biotic), respectively. Three replications were applied for each treatment. The result showed that the 1ppm of pro-biotic was effective dosage and it had a significant effect (p<0,05) in increasing survival rate (71,30%). But, the dosage 2ppm and 3ppm of pro-biotic and control there were lower than 1ppm i.e. 57,41% ; 56,48% and 24,5.%, respectively and there were no significant difference (p>0.05) among the treatments on the size of milkfish seed. Keywords : Dosage, milkfish larvae, pro-biotic, survival rate. |
