The country's economy has not revived yet in 1998. Although the rupiah value has depreciated significantly against the US dollar in the second half of 1998, namely from Rp14,900 at end of June 1998 to Rp8,025 per US dollar as December 31, 1998 but it still far below the Rp2,450/US rate at end of 1997. The economic crisis which had dramatically hit the economy of Asia including Indonesia as well gave a bad impact to the growth of the inflows of foreign capital.
