Reviewing the Effectiveness of the First Establishment of a Fishing Logbook to Measure Catch and Effort Performance in the Arafura Sea Banana Prawn Trawl Fishery
The massive exploitation of fish stocks in Indonesia waters is influenced by the perception that the sea consist of renewable natural resources that can recover rapidly. This study reviews the effectiveness of the first official logbook applied to the nine prawn trawlers of a fishing company Tri Kusuma Graha in Marauke, Papua as one the supporting data for the development of a fisheries database, by using data collected in the logbooks to provide a current description of the fishery.
